USE OF WELL KNOWN CONJUNCTIONS
কতকগুলো অতি পরিচিত ‘CONJUNCTION’-এর ব্যবহার
AND

Ram and Rahini are two brothers. সে বসে পড়ল ও কাদতে লাগল – He sat and began to cry.
রাম ও রহিম দুই ভাই
সে শক্তিশালী ও সাহসী
He is strong and brave.
তুমি এবং আমি পুরোনো বন্ধু
You and I are old friends. রীতেশ ও তার বন্ধু বিমল পরীক্ষায় পাশ করেছিল। Ritesh and his friend Bimal passed the examination.
সে একইসঙ্গে বোকা ও বদমাশ He is both a fool and a knave. সেই ছড়াটি পড়েছে এবং মুখস্থ করেছে – He has read the rhyme and com mitted to memory.
OR
হয় করো, নাহয় মরো
Do or die.
রমেশ অথবা তার ভাই বাজারে যাবে Ramesh or his brother will go to market.
এটা কি সত্যি না মিথ্যে ছিল?
Was it true or false. রীতা কিংবা তার বোন ফুলগুলি তুলেছে- Rita or her sister have plucked
the flowers.
BUT
সে গরিব কিন্তু সং
He is poor but honest.
সে দুর্বল কিন্তু সাহসী
He is weak but brave.
সে কাজ করবে নতুবা চলে যাবে
He will work or leave. ভালো করে পড়াশোনা করো নতুবা অকৃতকার্য হবে – Study well or you will fail.
SO
সে অসুস্থ, তাই সে ইস্কুলে যেতে পারে না – He is ill, so he cannot go to school.
বরুণ সর্বদাই মিথ্যে কথা বলে, তাই কেউ তাকে ভালোবাসে না- Barun always tells a lie, so none loves him. এখন বৃষ্টি পড়ছে, তাই পথচারীদের মাথায় ছাতা – It is raining now, so there are umbrellas on the heads of passers-by.
সে খুব চেষ্টা করেছিল, তাই খেলায় জিতেছে He tried hard, so he has won the game.
THEREFORE
তোমার বাবা অসুস্থ, তাই তোমার একজন ডাক্তার ডাকা উচিত – Your father is ill, therefore you should call in a doctor. তোমার দশটি কলম আছে, তাই তোমার ভাইকে তা থেকে দুটি কলম দেওয়া উচিত – You have ten pens, therefore you should give two from those to your brother.

যেহেতু আমি অসুস্থ, আমি স্কুলে যেতে পারিনি- As I was ill, I could not
go to school.
যেহেতু আপনি বাড়ির কর্তা, তাই আপনার পরিবারের সকলের দেখাশোনা করা উচিত – As you are the head of the family, you should look after all the members of your family.
THAT
আমার বাবা বলেন যে এ বইটি আমার My father says that this book is mine.
সে কঠিন পরিশ্রম করে যাতে সে সফল হতে পারে – He works hard that he can succeed. আমি জানি যে সে একটা ঠগ – I know that he is a cheat.
